In July 2010, students from Year 10 (current year 11) took part in a project to shoot a film in a day. Over three weeks of preparation they planned and scripted their short film "Icarus", which was then filmed using professional equipment. The film was premiered on 29th January 2011 at the Curzon cinema, Mayfair and is documented here as part of INK Ideas.
Can you explain a bit about how the project came about and what you learnt about the film-making process? Was it something that you decided to make and sought support or was there a project set up originally? How did you come to work together? Was it due to INK magazine or just due to past friendships? The credits indicate that it was produced mostly by student, but did you have a professional team supporting you? Would be great to have a bit more reflective writing about the different stages of this project and perhaps some testimonials from other members of the film.
